Our Story
About Us
Parents-of-three Zdenek and Lenka Tancos are the owners of Tiarrah Pizza Bar in Northdown Road which is now ready to welcome customers after some six months of refurb works.
The venue, which is the site of a former off licence, features a large Napoli pizza oven with open fire which is so heavy it took a tractor and 10 men to get it in place!

“We have been working hard to put everything together as we have started from scratch.
The place that we have leased had a bad reputation but we put everything into it to make it look nice and attractive to customers. It used to be an off license and we have given it a complete makeover to make a nice little restaurant.
“We have decided to open it because there is not such a place in Cliftonville where you can sit and enjoy nice wine with proper Italian pizza.”

Organic and Fairtrade Sourcing methods is very important to us, with our ventilation methods aiding clean air and sustainability.

Moving In
Our business took a lot of time, love and effort to build, and we ran into some interesting logistical challenges along the way. Read below some of our most interesting moments building Tiarrah's.
Step 1 - A blank canvas.
We took over our now lovely restaurant as a run-down off license. The place had a bad reputation - we made it our mission to revitalise this property with such amazing potential.
Step 2 - Refurbishment
Stripping out old floors, walls and fittings was no easy job. We're so proud of the work undertaken by friends, family and partners to help us deliver our vision.
Step 3 - The Pizza Oven
Removed Storefront, 10 Men, 1 Tractor - All to move in our pride and joy, a large Napoli Pizza Oven.
Coming with surround air flow and environmentally friendly ventilation, the oven allows us to cook food to consistent high standards.
Step 4 - Finishing Touches
